Last Sunday was an evening of great significance, as we convened to celebrate the Swiss heritage of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Originating in Montreux, Switzerland, in 1967, the festival has since evolved into one of the world’s most esteemed jazz festivals. This year marked the second edition of Montreux Jazz Festival Miami, bringing its renowned blend of legendary performances and artistic excellence to the vibrant city of Miami.
The cocktail reception was co-hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington D.C., the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta, the Social Club Miami, and the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce, Florida Chapter. The event welcomed members of the local and regional business community, Swiss compatriots, and the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami organization committee along with their guests to celebrate the festival’s grand finale.
The evening commenced with a lively cocktail reception, which set the stage for an exceptional night featuring Afro-Cuban rhythms, headlined by the distinguished Jon Batiste and Cimafunk. Among the notable guests was Yilian Cañizares, a Swiss Cuban artist whose performance later that night was captivating.
The event demonstrated the unifying power of art, showcasing electrifying performances and a shared passion for music. Miami, known for its artistic diversity and dynamic culture, provided an ideal setting for this inspiring celebration.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami team and the Bayshore Club Bar & Grill for their collaboration in making this event a success. As we reflect on the magic of this year’s festival, we eagerly anticipate what lies ahead in 2026.
